The exam consists of 50 multiple-choice questions to be completed online in 40 minutes with a pass mark of 74%.

Are there any prerequisites for the course?

No formal prerequisites, though a basic understanding of Agile principles is beneficial.

Scrum Master

The Scrum Master certification is designed for individuals responsible for product delivery and solution development using the Scrum framework. It is particularly valuable for Scrum Masters, managers and team members who aim to maximise the benefits of Scrum in complex environments. This qualification focuses on applying a core set of principles to guide Scrum implementation, helping teams realise its full potential.

As a Scrum Master, you will play a key role in promoting and supporting Scrum practices. Upon completing this qualification, you will be equipped to assist Scrum Product Owners in shaping and refining the product backlog, driving the early and incremental delivery of valuable products. You’ll also be able to lead the adoption of Scrum across teams, working closely with stakeholders and fellow Scrum Masters to continuously improve effectiveness.

The Scrum Master certification covers a range of topics, including:

Understanding of the Scrum framework, including its theory, practices, roles, rules, and values (as outlined in the Scrum Guide)
Exploring the role of the Scrum Master, focusing on their interaction with team members and stakeholders to support and guide the team
Understanding Scrum principles, how to effectively apply them to improve team performance and project outcomes in the workplace
How to build a well-rounded development team with the right mix of skills and experience to optimise delivery and collaboration
The skills required to facilitate Scrum events effectively and remove any impediments hindering the team’s progress
How to support Scrum Product Owners in shaping and refining the product backlog, enabling the incremental and early delivery of valuable products
Understanding how to adopt the Scrum framework across teams, and to collaborate with stakeholders and fellow Scrum Masters to enhance results.

Examination Information

To gain the full Scrum Master qualification you must complete one online examination.

The assessment consists of 50 multiple-choice questions, and you have 50 minutes to complete. The pass mark is 60%.

Timetable and Study Options

The Scrum Master can be studied in three different ways: Distant Learning, Virtual Classes and Face to Face Classes.

Distance Learning involves independent, self-paced study. You’ll have access to our online learning platform, allowing you to work through the resources in your own time, at your own pace.

Virtual Classes run over 2 days, live online from 9am – 4.30pm. These classes enable you to engage with our expert trainers and fellow classmates in real-time.

Face to Face Classes run over 2 days from 9am – 4.30pm. These in-person, interactive classes, take place across our wide range of UK study venues.
