The Scrum Master certification covers a range of topics, including:

  • Understanding of the Scrum framework, including its theory, practices, roles, rules, and values (as outlined in the Scrum Guide)
  • Exploring the role of the Scrum Master, focusing on their interaction with team members and stakeholders to support and guide the team
  • Understanding Scrum principles, how to effectively apply them to improve team performance and project outcomes in the workplace
  • How to build a well-rounded development team with the right mix of skills and experience to optimise delivery and collaboration
  • The skills required to facilitate Scrum events effectively and remove any impediments hindering the team’s progress
  • How to support Scrum Product Owners in shaping and refining the product backlog, enabling the incremental and early delivery of valuable products
  • Understanding how to adopt the Scrum framework across teams, and to collaborate with stakeholders and fellow Scrum Masters to enhance results.

To gain the full Scrum Master qualification you must complete one online examination.

The assessment consists of 50 multiple-choice questions, and you have 50 minutes to complete. The pass mark is 60%.

The Scrum Master can be studied in three different ways: Distant Learning, Virtual Classes and Face to Face Classes.

Distance Learning involves independent, self-paced study. You’ll have access to our online learning platform, allowing you to work through the resources in your own time, at your own pace.

Virtual Classes run over 2 days, live online from 9am – 4.30pm. These classes enable you to engage with our expert trainers and fellow classmates in real-time.

Face to Face Classes run over 2 days from 9am – 4.30pm. These in-person, interactive classes, take place across our wide range of UK study venues.

There are no formal entry requirements for undertaking this qualification. However, a basic understanding of Agile principles and project management frameworks may be beneficial for you to get the most out of the course.
