The Change Management Foundation qualification is designed for individuals who need a practical understanding of the fundamental principles of change management, including essential terminology and the underlying theory. The Foundation course is also a pre-requisite for those wishing to continue their studies by pursuing the Practitioner level qualification.

The APMG Change Management Foundation will cover a range of topics including:

  • How change affects individuals, exploring various responses to change, and how learning processes facilitate adaptation.
  • Developing strategies to support individuals through change, enhancing motivation, and overcoming resistance to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Organisational operations, the process of change, and the roles that collaborate to implement successful change.
  • The critical elements of stakeholder engagement in a change initiative and effective communication strategies.
  • The various impacts of a change initiative and strategies for building and sustaining momentum for change.
  • The essential aspects of forming an effective change team and contributing to discussions on enhancing team effectiveness.

To gain the full Change Management Foundation qualification you must complete one examination.

The assessment consists of 50 multiple-choice questions, to be answered in a time frame of 40 minutes and is to be taken online. The pass mark is 50%.

The Change Management Foundation can be studied in two different ways: Virtual Classes and Face to Face Classes.

Virtual Classes run over 3 days, live online from 9am – 4.30pm. These classes enable you to engage with our expert trainers and fellow classmates in real-time.

Face to Face Classes run over 3 days from 9am – 4.30pm. These in-person, interactive classes, take place across our wide range of UK study venues.

There are no formal entry requirements for undertaking this qualification. However, the Change Management Foundation is aimed those interested in gaining an understanding of the basic principles of achieving successful organisational change, including team members involved in organisational change, transition or transformation projects.
