The PRINCE2 Portfolio Management Foundation will cover a range of topics, including:

  • The scope, objectives and benefits of portfolio management and it differs from project and programme management
  • The context and principles that determine successful portfolio management
  • Approaches to implementation, key factors for maintaining progress, and methods for evaluating the success of portfolio management
  • The purpose of portfolio management definition and delivery cycles, their core practices, and relevant techniques for each
  • The purpose and essential content of major portfolio documents

To gain the full PRINCE2 Portfolio Management Foundation qualification you must complete one examination.

The assessment consists of a 40-minute, 50 multiple-choice question online exam and is closed book. The pass mark is 50%.

Complete the full PRINCE2 certification pathway and you could achieve PRINCE2 Master.

The PRINCE2 Portfolio Management Practitioner can be studied in two different ways: Virtual Classes and Face to Face Classes.

Virtual Classes run over 3 days, live online from 9am – 4.30pm. These classes enable you to engage with our expert trainers and fellow classmates in real-time.

Face to Face Classes run over 3 days from 9am – 4.30pm. These in-person, interactive classes, take place across our wide range of UK Venues.

There are no formal entry requirements for undertaking the PRINCE2 Portfolio Management foundation qualification. However, it is designed for those involved in the selection and delivery of business change initiatives. This includes members of Management Boards and Directors of Change, Senior Responsible Owners (SROs), portfolio, programme, project, business change, and benefits managers, as well as business case writers and project appraisers.
