Mike Kimmins has nearly 40 years of experience as a project and programme management consultant and practitioner across many industries and business sectors. He has built a professional reputation as a particularly knowledgeable and skilled adviser, mentor and trainer, particularly in the areas of contract management, project planning and project control. In the last six years he has expanded his experience by expediting several large Enterprise Architecture interventions in Europe and America.
He is a member of Open Group, APM and World Commerce & Contracting and has worked with them to assess candidates against those organisations standards.
Having started his project management career in the pharmaceutical sector he has had notable successes in the financial, logistic, travel and engineering sectors with organisations around the world, using waterfall and Agile methodologies, but more commonly a mixture of both. Therefore he is able to relate training back to his real life experience and relate that to the students’ needs; there are not many problems he has not encountered during his career.
As well as being a trainer he now concentrates on delivering complex merger and acquisition contracts within the engineering sector.
In his spare time he is an active archer, competing nationally, tries to keeps fit, works with two healthcare charities and enjoys travelling, but not the jet lag.
